Long Island Rose Society
We have programs, garden events or parties once a month from March to December each year.
Our members will have opportunities to exhibit their roses at our June Rose Show and at our meetings from September to November. During the summer months we meet at public and private gardens on Saturdays. In the spring and fall we meet at the South Huntington Public Library on Saturdays from 1 to 3pm. The library is located on 145 Pidgeon Hill Rd., Huntington Station, NY.
Members receive newsletters for each of these 10 months, not only to keep them informed about our events, but also to keep them abreast about the latest in roses and rose gardening.
About The LIRS
The Long Island Rose Society began in the mid '50's and is affiliated with the American Rose Society.
Each June we hold our annual rose show at the Planting Fields Arboretum.
Our members are knowledgeable about the latest in rose care and rose varieties, especially for people concerned about using fewer chemicals or going completely organic.
We also share information about upcoming rose shows, rose garden tours and other rose related events that occur around the country and the world.
